Offroad light wiring cable broke

Offroad light wiring cable broke
The black ground wires from my lights got cut in half. I cut off the broken parts stripped new parts of the wire and reconnected the two pieces by using the small tube connectors with metal on the inside and you clamp it down. The switch lights up and the fuse is not broken. What are I over looking? Am I going to have to replace?

when your ground got cut were the lights on? if so you need new bulbs.
if you turned the lights on with out the ground attached at all you need new bulbs too...
