Default off road but aggresive tires

Im going off to college next year and Ill be commuting 5 hours back to home every once in a while. I got Interco TrXus 31X 10.5's on now and there wearing pretty fast and don't do well on the highway not to mention 5 hours of it, they would be slicks in no time. Im lookin for some nice highway/ road tires but also quit aggresive because ill be going to college in N.D. and will fur sure be gettin a little mud on the tires.

My Bro has got Nitto's Terra Grapplers on his silverado and they ride very nice on and off road but don't look aggresive enough for me. I'v also looked at BFG All-Terrain T/A KOs and not sure about them. Gimme some feed back on any tire you think is worthy.

You can also put the Goodyear wrangler A/T.

BFG at's are agressive and last very long. BFG MT's are very agressive and you can get 40-50k out of them. I'd put my money in those.

Walmart charges $9.76 Road Hazzard Waranty per tire.
Can I be a wise *** and tell them I'll take the wanranty on one tire?
And when they ask why I'm gonna ask how the hell do you know which one of the 4 blew out?

Townfair tried to tell me they "Have" to put new vavle stems in because if they didn't they were breaking the law. I asked them to cite the CT DMV law and they could not so he offered to "give" them to me.
I asked if he thought the rubber was better than the brass valve stems I have and he shut up.

At Pepboys I bought 4 of those 4 for $99 Cornell tires. 2 years in 2 were cracking and they replaced them no charge and 5 years later all 4 are still on the truck.

They stopped selling them! ):

The BFGs you mentionmed are working fine on mine and I have had them about 1.5 years. Little visible wear and great traction on and off road.
My second choice would be Cooper Discoverers.

if you are going to be driving that far then i'd stick with an A/T you will get a better ride and last longer than the M/T's. granted you will give up some traction but that is a choice you'll have to make.

Uggh.. no. Lousy off-road, barely better in cold conditions.

The BFG AT or Cooper are both good choices. Add in the Bridgestone Dueler Revo.

I run 265/75/r16 BFG All-terrian TA KO's and they are nice, i commute 4 days a week on the highway to college (only about 20 Mins) but they aren't to loud and do not seem to be wearing at all. I've heard i should be able to get 50K out of them. Ive only had them for 3K after i bought the set used for $300 shipped from Cali. they still have about 85% left on them.

Another which I have read good things about that is similar to the BFG's is the General Grabber AT2. I am seriously considering some aggressive AT's for my next set of tires since most of what I do is hunting and trails and river runs and nothing overly aggressive..

I was have the BF and my XJ was like an oriental dancer I have now the G/Y and everything is great
I don't know if they use the same materials when they make tires for USA as for Europe. I've heard that Pirelli are also good from Asia forums but here in Greece are used only for pasengers cars. The B/F from what i know here in Greece are very good for cars like Suzuki wich are no heavy, or for cars like Toyota L/C or cherokee KJ. For the XJ we use most COOPER and some G/Y.
