Question OEM headlight upgrade options?

Has anyone here replaced their Cherry's stock Wagner lights with a combo lens/h4 bulb upgrade package?? I'm thinking it would be a sensible way to simplify burnt out light replacement in the future while getting more (and better) light in the process.

I've seen kits from Rampage, IPF, Delta and a few others.

Please share your experiences (both good & bad) with these vision upgrade options.

I got some H4 conversion lights off of ebay called "autopal" and they are very close if not the same as the IPF/HELLA lights. The light output is a huge upgrade. And they are not as expensive as the high dollar IPF/HELLA conversions. If you go on ebay just search "H4 conversion headlights" they work very well. You wont go back to stock headlights ever again. I am also going to do and upgraded harness in the near future that gives even more light output. Thats my .02.

I got the 'diamond cut' ones off ebay and I personally hate them. the light refracts in all sorts of wierd random directions. I got tail lights and side markers that I love but I need better headlights.

The issue with the cheapos is the relfectors aren't going to be as good a quality and could very well be painted..Also typically have plastic lenses. Personally I'd pay the extra to get hella or IPF's...You can usually find the lenses for about $70 a pair..

Go-Jeep has a harness upgrade that you make yourself. It will insure that your headlights get the full 12 volts directly from your battery. READ HERE

The Autopal's are glass lens E-Code housings. I have been running them awhile now with their standard bulbs and notice a big improvement in pattern and visibility. I plan a harness upgrade eventually and may bump up to a brighter bulb.

EDIT: Heres a very long thread with pics from NAXJA on these lights.

I just saw them on ebay cuz I need to get a new one they are $24.99 + 14.95 shipping. They are glass cuz if you drop one it will shatter. Yes I dropped one. I was running IPF bulbs and it was excellant on the back roads I drive.

The 24 is for the pair with the H4 bulbs. I just put silverstars back in til I replace the shattered autopal. The auto pals give off a bit more light than the silverstars. I noticed the ST highbeams are not even close to being as bright as the AP's lowbeam is close but the AP's beat them. I cant wait to get them back in.

For $40 and being a bolt in i was willing to gamble on them close to 2 years ago. Maybe the best $40 investment on my rig.

Still running the original bulbs, i should probably look into getting a new set.

I will be ordering my replacement set on pay day. I wont run anything else for a while. I was thinking about putting HID's in them. We'll see.
