#1 Okay, I filled the tank up on Monday. 16.4 gallons or something like that. I drove to school twice this week (6.6 miles one way) so that's 26.4 miles at least. My odometer says 15.5, I reset it the second I left the gas station. What's causing this and I need it fixed! Any thoughts?
#2 my speedometer works sometimes and others not, it likes to work when I'm not on the gas for some reason? I do not have a transfer case so I don't know where my sensor for that is? And how would I know it's bad when I find it? Or is that even my issue? Or are both there issues related?

If the speedo isnt running, the odometer wont either. The two problems are related. Change your sensor or check the wires in your dash. The sensor should be on the trans somewhere, I cant tell you where, never had a 2wd xj.
Heres some decent info on the 2wd xj.
