So we are all well aware of electrical issues that seem to plague Jeeps. I have corrected quite a few in the past on multiple XJ's and TJ's I've owned.

This one has me a bit stumped, so here it goes.

If you open a drivers side door (Front or Rear), the dome lights come on fine. Nice and bright and all. However, if you open a passenger side door (Front or Rear) the dome light comes very dim and then continues to slowly dim (like theater lighting Hah!), but the kicker is, after the dome light dims all the way out, the rear passenger taillight lights up

This one made me laugh. Wanted to know if anyone had every ran into this one or something similar. I checked the color wiring diagrams I have and don't see anywhere the dome light and taillight would tie together.

 

well, I guess you thought no one would reply to this by now, but i kinda like digging up a several-day-old threads....safe to say I never seen this combination of weird lightning issues, but it looks like there is some shorting/crossbreeding going on, or some ground issue.....time to get the old DVOM out and start pokin' around...any aftermarket stuff on board?
