Default Odd cold start...

I have encountered a few interesting things with my 94 xj, most of them simple... My jeep turns over several times before finally firing, then, only when cold, revs very slightly and missfires slightly. After a moment it straitens out and runs perfect. I have changed plugs, wires, air & fuel filters, ign coil, checked vacuum leaks, etc. Have not found anything that really gets my attention. Anyone ever encountered this before? Any ideas?

Try a very thorough throttle body cleaning. Every port should be scrubed and particular attention paid to the IAC openings and pintle.

If the cleaning does not effect the changes you are looking for then the only other thing I can think of is the O2 sensor.
Are either of you getting any CEL or are they absent?

I got the same issue with my wifes 98, but mine does it when it's a warm start, and I don't have a engine light. Doesn't do it all the time.

Surprisingly for 182,000 miles, the intake is actually pretty clean but I am usually pretty strict on maintenance. My cel works but has no codes showing and I am pretty sure that I changed the o2 sensor about a year ago. It has done this almost as long as I have had it. If I had not had other Jeeps, I wouldn't think quite so much about it. i know that this is not a normal thing for most so I would like to cure the problem.
