OBD I and Temp gauges

OBD I and Temp gauges
Hello Everyone,
I have the dummy indicators in my jeep. I was wondering if anyone knew if OBD I could pull temp readings like OBD II. I'm looking into a trip monitor for OBD I that also can display temp readings and all. I looked into it and it looks like the 93 uses pulse code modulation and can be connected via serial port (with the encode/decode pcm circuitry). I'm guessing that for all that work I could just try and find another cluster and senders? Just wondering what others have done.
