o2 sensor heater fuse keeps blowing
 

Jeep started running like crap, missing the other day soon did a tune up, cap,rotor and new plugs. Thought I fixed it but the CEL came on for p0138 and p0135. Fuse is blown under hood,blows instantly when replaced. Damn fuse blows even when both o2 sensors are unplugged,im guessing wiring issue.

Wiring looks good, connectors too,took the loom off the wires and nothing is burnt.Any tips or advice? Drivability is fine but I'm gonna get boned when inspection is due in a few months lol.

It's a 98 Xj 5 spd.

The 15 amp one in the PDC for the o2 sensor heater. It will blow with both o2 sensors unplugged, tried to pinpoint which sensor is causing it by unplugging them 1 at a time but no luck

Bump anyone have any ideas? Check engine light is on but the truck doesnt skip a beat ,lol. I followed the wiring up from the front one and it goes into that plastic rail and all looks well,no bare spots that i can see.

Check the wiring from the rear sensor as well.

Did you figure out whats wrong with it? I have a 99 XJ with the same issue.

check if the drive shaft ate through the 02 wires creating a short, I had this happen in my XJ this past month

For my o2 on the Comanche the front upper control arm ripped the wires out and it shorted. In my Cherokee I've had a stick rip it off, something made it fall on the exhaust, and another time I came down on a rock landing on the exhaust and that shoved the o2 sensor up into the floor shorting it out. So in my experience the wiring probably got messed up somewhere somehow and you just need to take a look under the jeep and see if you can find any damage to the wiring.

Bare wire somewhere would cause this. They aren't always touching, but you hit a bump and the wires touch and then it blows the fuse
