Hello Everyone,
I just stripped 2 of the nuts holding the brace for the main bearing caps. (got all 14 off) However, I need to replace the couple of nuts I destroyed. I picked up 14 new ones from True Value and am wondering if the metal that they are made of (aluminum or stainless?) would be suitable inside the engine, covered in oil 24/7 for years without corroding or loosening?
Mopar no longer makes these nuts specifically and I am also searching for other alternatives, if I can't use these true value nuts. Suggestions?
