Nut strips

I finally got my rear bumper off and my jeep already has nut strips down both frame rails. There's also metal strips on the bottom of both rails that run back to the bump stops. Is all xj's like this?

not familiar with those "metal strips" but nut strips could be leftover from when a factory or aftermarket hitch was installed

I'll take a picture tomorrow. They run along the bottom of the frame rails, Read alot about xj's, never seen or heard of these. Found factory trailer plug up in the bumper also.

I have never heard of any metal running along the unibody rails, definitely take a picture. I doubt that is OE.

Those are to mount a factory hitch, had to put a few in myself.

The plate is a quarter inch thick and runs from end of frame rail to just past bumpstop.
