Never thought of that for the NSS. If it works, it works. Just make sure that hole is sealed good and tight when done because you just opened another door for rust to take hold.

Hmm... interesting. My biggest problem removing the NSS was accessing where the wires were anchored to the transmission bellhousing.

Hahaha... I don't know how much experience you have working on this platform, but trust me - this won't be the first time you curse the engineers.

That's a good idea. I have had 3 tries trying to replace mine and it hasn't budged. I will try this next.
So after making the opening, how did you go about taking it off without damaging the shaft?

I fear mine is rusted on tight (everything on this Jeep is rusted on by now), though I didn't try that screw driver trick on the nut. I tried the shims and a screw driver working behind the body. I'll give it another try in the spring.

With the opening. I was able to put more heat to it and use a small flat bar.. My unit was already dammaged. From the screw driver trick so i didnt have much to lose. You can really get behind itvwith this access point

I just got done with mine. Thankfully, everything rust free. Getting the zip ties off was a real pain. Anyone done the NSS and CPS? Which did you find to be worse? Thanks.
