I have a 98 jeep cherokee and my nss was acting up about 2 months ago I took it off cleaned it and its given me no problems until about a week ago it won't go into od and I have no reverse lights. I bought a new nss and installed it however I'm still having the same problems. Any ideas?

Did you adjust the new one? There is a little adjustment. If you tried that already check the wire harness and the plug to make sure the harness isn't damaged or the plug doesn't have a pin that pushed out or bent.

If it starts in P&N, your NSS would appear to be properly adjusted..(no dis to RTorrez1)
I'm pretty sure your brake light switch affects OD and TC lockup, you might check/adjust that.. could be 2 separate issues?
It's not really very likely, but did you check the bulbs?
Before you crawl under there to check things out, you might check for continuity at the harness.. here's a pic. Good Luck!

Thanks for all your input after hours of more research a few people said that a blown fuse in the inside kick panel was causing the same problems that I was experiencing. Sure enough I found that a 15amp fuse was blown and upon replacement my reverse lights came on and transmission goes into over drive perfectly.
