Default np231 swap but they have different plugs!?

The tc in my 93 went bad. Picked one up from a guy who had one in a 93 also, his has SYE installed and a tom woods DS. Pull mine out today and it has a wiring plug that the new one doesn't. The exploded view of the np231 in the Haynes says its a vaccum switch. How did this guy get away without running it? Can I get away without running it? any help is appreciated, thanks.

A 93 shouldnt have any kind of vacuum at tcase, AFAIK... Just a 2 prong switch for the light.

It is 2 prong, but the Haynes manual called it a vaccum switch? Your saying its for the light on the dash that displays "4 lo" ect?
