Camshaft position sensor (inside the distributor)... I went threw the same problem.

 

There is a simple test, I'll try to find it.

 

How many miles? Maybe it jumped time?

Check for vaccum leaks. These 4.0's have a ton of hard plastic lines that get very brittle and break super easily. Check all lines/hoses

 

Ok I have read all of your posts,I might have missed it but when did you change your o2 sensor.your first post said it throws that code,4 months ago. A bad o2 sensor is what your jeep said,it tells the computer what the air,fuel ratio is - bad sensor -bad running motor !

 

how do i check this sensor i would like to have my mechianc check it tomrrow

 

Buddy just bought a brand new bad CPS (now known as the C POS) 3 hours of checking to find out it was what we had just replaced.

 

The best thing you can do is take it to the dealership that work on jeeps.
