Default not starting questions

I am new here and i see alot of threads about the crankshaft sensor causing the engine not to start but figured i would ask here is what I have done I have a 1998 Cherokee with the 4.0 and an automatic I swapped the motor to a motor out of a 1996 but used all the accessories off of my 1998 motor with the origonal wiring harness the old motor ran but I warped the head I am no having an issue were the motor will crank but not start and when i let go of the key it kinda sputters at the end any advise would be great like i said i am going to swap the crank shaft sensor now so i will see if that will work also i am having an issue with the neutral safety switch i think i have to shift out of park to neutral and shut the key off several times before it will start any help on that would be great as well

Sounds pretty close to what im going through. I have a 2000 cherokee and the number four piston blew up. I swaped an engine from a 94 into mine, swaped all my acc over also. Now I have extremly long cranks, sometimes it starts, most of the time no start. Let me know if the new crank posistion sensor does the trick.

Did you ever find out why your Jeep was acting up? Mine is doing the same thing. Thank you.
