Default not getting a good answer in GC tech... so maybe here...

from mid 93 to 2004 the grand cherokees had the 42re auto tranny behind the 4.0 4x4 my question is is this the same 42re between the ZJ and WJ years or did something change that would render them useless to each other? i know one of yall would know this but nobody really goes to the grand cherokee tech anymore... thanks!

as a owner of two XJ's and a 95 ZJ with the 42re i am almost certain there wasn't really a big change, unless it was a v8... i think the gearing was different. Im not 100% sure though, trying calling Jeep and asking, might work... ill let ya know if i find out anything

yeah ill have to buzz them and see if they know anything... my jeep dealers arent very smart though... lol...
