Default Not getting am or fm

I tried to search this and just couldn't find anything.

This may seem like an easy answer to some and I hope it is but i'm no electrical guy. I have a 96 xj 4x4 inline 6 4.0 with an aftermarket radio. The AM and FM don't work at all. It just searches for stations without stopping. Can someone tell me what I need to do to get this fixed? Thank you in advance.

Check antenna wire,or antenna connection (wire to antenna).Reach under the right end of the instrument
panel to access and reconnect the two halves

On my aftermarket installation, I had to use a 90° extension to plug into the radio. It had a tendency to come off during installation or removal.
