Not changing gears
Hey,
So I have been slow in resolving my previous issue. Now after having it sorted for over a month, I am having trouble with my tranny.
I drive a 1999 XJ (stock with no mods) with an automatic tranny. Whenever I put the car in D and push on the gas pedal, the engine is over revving at 3000-4000rpm with no change from first to second gear.
My mechanic buddy thought it was the Throttle Position Sensor, which I had issues with before (really low RPM when starting the car early morning). But we tried a whole new throttle with no success. He was throwing at me changing the whole tranny.
I have been researching solutions and seems the sensor was the most popular one. Should I try to replace the sensors or go with a new tranny?
