Default Normal operating temperature question.

I'll start with I have a 99 cherokee sport.
I live in New Hampshire, it's mid October and the air is very cold and dense. Last week I was on the highway at the temp gauge was at 220. Which got my attention because with the cold dense air we have the Jeep should have been running much cooler. Definitely not 220. Now one week later I've replaced the radiator, water pump and thermostat. I took her on a about 70 mile round trip drive with speeds pretty consistant at 50-60. And she was operating at 195 to about 206 never really hit 210. Is that okay?

I have had 5 different cherokee and all of the ones I have had ran between 190 and 215 year round. You might want to change the temp sending unit I had one a while back that was running hot on the gauge but with a thermal thermometer it was fine so I changed the sending unit and all was good.

The dash gauge on mine never moves from just below 210 on the gauge. Using my obd2 reader it floats between 210 and 215.

My 94 XJ never goes above 190 no matter how hard I push it. When I use the heater I've even seen it drop as low as 160. I have an all aluminium 3core radiator and 4 electric slim fans. 2 in the bay pulling air in at all times and 2 outside the bay pushing air in when The A/C kicks on or it begins to overheat.

I'd rather be 20degrees cooler than even 1degree over 190.

How's the fuel usage with that. If your below normal operating temp too much which is 210 on the gauge the engine is adding extra fuel to bring the temp back up.

Mine always stays between 200-210. Rarely sees above that.

The temp only drops when I use the heater and I've noticed no mpg drop since doing the mod.
