Looking to get wing windows from a u pull it and swap them out on my 96 2dr xj. Anybody ever done that before? Pictures, comments and or tips would be awesome if someone has done this before!

What year would the donor vehicle be? Some of the earlier XJs had a different style window channel and weatherstrip. If the donor is 94-96 then the swap should be fairly simple. You might even be able to go as far back as 92.

I am not sure you can. There is a place where the front window guide bolts in and I am not sure the non wind wing doors will have it,

The doors will most likely be the same for either option. Jeep had a habit of building their vehicles to accomodate multiple options on the same base parts. It helped keep inventory down by only having 1 style of door to keep in supply at the factory instead of 2. You will probably have to change the entire window channel over to make it work.

the front channel is all part of the wing window i did exactly the opiste of what you are doing because the ming mindows werent air tight and made all kinds of noise and leaked water so i repalced them with fixed windows but the wing windows are just bolted in with a few screws and bolts cant remember how many you do need to remove your door panel i beleive i had to take my window out also to do this swap there are a few other threads on this try searching im sure you will find something

Will say just did this from non to vented on my 1993 with parts from a 92.. 2 bolts on top.. remove door panel.. 1 torque bit for bottom of front window run channel..with the window rolled down was able to rock it back and sneak it out with removing the window.. fairly easy actually.. wasnt sure at first..

I'd like to do this conversion on my Comanche. What was the cost involved and did you have to go buy entire doors at the pick and pull?
