noisy manual transmission
I have a 92 4.0 2 dr 4x4 sport. It produces gear noise from the manual transmission when cruising at highway speed in 5th gear. I can quiet it down substantially by putting my hand on the shifter **** and centering the shifter. When I got it the inner shifter boot was in shreds so I replaced it. I changed the oil which was in good shape with RP 75-90 synth but did not use the Synchromax and the noise still remains. I mean I can live with it but would like to quiet it down if possible .
