I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.5 inch Rough Country suspension lift and there is a noise coming from the front end. I believe that its coming from where the front drive shaft goes into the front transfer case. It makes a noise like a roller coaster being pulled up a hill with a chain. I bought this jeep yesterday and i really need to fix this noise and i have no idea what it is. Ive been told u joints, cv joint, among other things. but idk. ANY IDEAS??? Thanks

sounds like the tc is stuck between gears. remove the linkage from the case and manually shift it into 2wd. see if that works. you might have to make some adjustments
