I have a noise coming from the front passenger side. It's a 99 xj, noise while driving in a straight line in 2wd or 4x4. It also does it on jackstands in 4x4. It looks like the u joint is in a slight bind while it rotates, I have replaced the axle shaft assy thinking it was bent......no go. It has not been in a wreck, however my father in law did slide that wheel pretty hard into a curb (on ice), so what would most likley be bent? wheel bearing, steering knuckle, ball joints, axle housing, or all of the above?
I don't want to keep doing surgery on an axle that might need to be replaced anyway......Any thoughts
Thanks!
Brian
