Default No Tachometer: what to do?

So my dang cherokee came with no tach, and i dont see the need for a giant gas gauge, so ive been wanting to install one. Ive read something about swapping out an instrument panel from another cherokee with a tach, and i also know you can install an aftermarket tach. which way would be easier? Where on the coil would you hook up an aftermarket tach?

thanks

Green wire on the coil pack, IIRC for an aftermarket tach

Youll have to tear the dash apart for the swap, and take your title in to DMV for them to stamp "Mileage discrepancy" on it

Default hmmm

i think im liking the idea of an aftermarket already. the only problem is where to put it
just for curiosity, is the dash already wired for a tach, you just need to hook it up?

Id assume so... But im not sure. I guess look for a green wire with a plug on it behind the gauges.

i swapped my guage cluster to one with a tach and it was super easy..just changed the temp sending unit and the oil pressure sending unit. the guage cluster is simple unbolt and plug in. by the way, i have zero mechanical experience. just read about it all on here and went for it. took maybe an hour. best thing i ever did. only thing is my original odometer had 150k miles and the new one has 200k..didnt bother with the dmv..figured it would only be a prob if i was going backwards. i almost went after market and im glad i didnt.
