So I have a 91 Comanche that had the 4.0 2wd in it. I had a 94 cherokee 4.0auto4x4 that I swapped into it I used the harness in the comanche the only thing I had to switch out what the crank sensor had a different 3 pin plug then the 94. I go to fire it up today I get no crank pull the fuel lines I get no fuel. when the turn the key to the crank pos the water temp gauge maxes out and keeps going until the let off the key. ive checked all the wiring its good none of the relays click when I turn the key. is this the CPS bad but I heard it would still crank just not start? thanks for the help!

 

i found out that the mj harness for the alt is different then the xjs its a 6 pin plug on the mj and a 5 pin on the xj i got the motor turning over now but still no fuel

 

Could just be the fuel system. Check the fuel pump fuse, and check the pump itself. Also make sure the fuel line isn't pinched anywhere.

 

fuse was good I know the line isnt pinched I guess im gonna ahve to check and see if i can jump the pump and check and see if im getting power to the pump
