Did you try a crank position sensor yet, More than likely that's the problem, had it happen to my 92xj twice.

Yes, I wish I would have payed more attention to the posts, especially the one about just unplugging, blowing out, re-connecting...

oh well at least my XJ is up and running again that's the most important thing. And I didn't waste money towing it to a shop and paying for a diagnostic test so again thank you all very much!
