Default No sound in front speakers...

When I got the Jeep all speakers worked. with in a few weeks closing the front doors made the speakers stop working, but would work again next slam. Now they will not come back on. Need to replace all the speakers anyways, but is this a common problem? Something to check first? thanks

Mine cut in and out as well! sometimes they are consistently on for a while and sometimes one of them is out for a while, other times they go in and out throughout the day.

I would like to get new speakers as well, but i'm not sure if it is a problem that would continue even with new speakers. anyone have more details on the issue?

My fronts didn't work when I got my XJ. I guess it's pretty common for the wires to get old. I ran new wires from the inside of the door to new speakers. Work perfectly now

The wires get cracks it happens to all cars not just xj's, just cut the wire so its a fresh end and you should be fine, if not you'll have to run a fresh wire from the head unit to the speaker but usually that's not the case just the ends break that's why it cuts in and out when you close the door probably if you hit a decent bump in the road too.

^ this, check the wires leading into the speakers. Because of how the wires are run, they can split even though they are inside the plastic/rubbery cover in the door jam. Happened with my 01 on the drivers side.

Definitely broken wires, same problem here.

I fixed it by splicing in a new section of wire where it passes through the door jamb.
