I haven't had a horn since I bought my 93 2dr 2months ago. I have been goin thru everything that everyone describes in the forums. I have KK disc brake conversion on stndby. Seals, gaskets, fluids...I am ready to Rock N Roll. One problem my horn. Living in Jersey I passed inspection without the horn, but I can't take it anymore. I have checked for power at the horns. Nothing. I dropped my lower dash panel to access relay. I have 12V coming into relay, 12V at the jumper, NO volts at horn wire out of relay, and the black has very LOW volts dumping to ground. I verified the horn wires both passenger and driver sides to have continuity. Basically they OHM out on tone as they should. The black ground wire which has a RED tracer goes to the column harness. Then up the column connector, then it goes into the column. So... here it is, the question. What in the steering column could be dumping my horn volts to ground? I really didnt wanna have to disassemble the column to inspect unless its necessary. Has anyone encountered this issue? And what was done to repair it? Thanks in advance.

 

Since no one replied no worries. I traced the wire into the column, disassembled the steering wheel from column. I OHM out that red/black to black wire at connector under column to horn pin. This pin is behind the lock plate and had tone. Replaced wheel to column and removed the horns and replaced them. They were the problem. Got horns now. I also cleaned the ground brackets, mounting areas and used die-electric grease to seal the imperfect spaces so no more rust.
