Here is the link.

The only changes I made was I eliminated the vise grips. I just put the air chuck with enough tape on it to make it snug in the heater hose and then just put the air to it.

I did the same thing he did on the first try and blew coolant everywhere. It helps if you can have someone man the bottle with eye protection and a rag over the bottle opening.

If this link doesn't work just search Eric the car guy.

I would do it. Before I did it, I really didn't think it would make a difference since I had done all of the obvious things.

Good luck.

Default Works...for awhile

I too followed the video and it worked - the first time. The next time I drove the jeep, it wasn't as hot. Any ideas? It's -10 and the wife and kids are cold.

p.s. I too blew fluid all over the garage!

Maybe you just need to do it again. I did it over and over until nothing but clean water was in the bottle. Probably took 12 times.

I used a funnel and filled the heater core till it came out the other hose. I would then put the air to it again.

Its been 2 weeks now and the heat is great.

Which is the in hose and which is the outlet hose to the heater core? I blew air and ran water both ways, but I'd like to only blow it backwards.

The hotter hose will be your inlet and the warm hose will be the outlet.

The long hose that goes to the thermostat housing is the one you will put in the bottle.

I snaked the long hose over the fender to the outside of the engine bay and had my son hold the bottle with eye protection and a rag over the inlet.

The shorter lower hose is where you will put the air and water in.

Default Your Heater Core needs to be backflushed...

I did a post of this just a few days ago.

I have a 1998 and a 1999 cherokee, both with about 170 - 190k on them. I replaced the t-stats, and did the conventional flush. But I still did not get anything beyond lukewarm heat.

I did some searching, on here and You Tube. Go to Walgreens and get some CLR. Backflush your Heater Core with this - you will be amazed at the gunk caught in there.

Now both Cherokees have HOT heat - to the point you need to turn down the dial - and that is with outside temps in the upper 20's.

Default This is really great

..but can someone please tell me what CLR is? I live in Norway and the product (whatever it is) may have a different name. Tremendously good advice being given by all contributors here. I am verygrateful. By the way, if you have a blown headgasket (like giving back-pressure in your coolant) then please do try Steel Seal. It literally saved my car. Here it is -20 so I hope for a solution to my heating problem real soon

I went through this last month.. Flushed htr core till it flowed free and clear, changed thermostat too but the real problem was the water pump. The fins around the impeller were TOTALLY rusted off! Found out that no matter what anyone tells you, a bad water pump does NOT have to leak to be bad...
