So on my 1997 cherokee i tore out the middle dome light wire. I mean i literally grabbed the wire and ripped the wire out from where it leads under the door trim/moulding area. Its an off road truck and the interior is barely existent. Anyway now none of the guages work and the radio wont turn on. I cant find any blown fuses. I dug the pulled wire up and its not shorting. Where do i start?

 

I would guess that it is a ground issue. Maybe that wire pulled out an additional wire. Usually the dash ground is under dash on or around steering column at firewall.

 

I really tugged on that wire so your right maybe it tore something else. The wire leads down on the passenger side

 

Radio and gauges being inop is a symptom of the IOD fuse being blown. The IOD is in the PDC. Its location is marked on the lid of the PDC. Check/replace it.


Bubba-ing up the dome light wiring may have shorted it to ground, blowing the fuse.
