I'm chasing a problem with a 95 Cherokee Sport. The instrument lights do not work. I have checked the bulbs, all good, checked continuity of the instrument pod, good, and checked the fuse which also is good. When I turn on the headlights, the radio's digital readout goes dark. I changed the headlight switch thinking it might be a bad dimmer. This did not solve the problem. I found a small relay under the driver side dash and changed this. When I removed the relay the radio readout went dark again. A new relay however did not solve the problem.

Is there something I am overlooking? I have not found a clear wire diagram showing the relay and how it works in the scheme of things. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Check your rear license plate light that is my problem.

I saw that on another post and did find that the license plate light was out. I changed it and it now works but still no dash lights. The other indicator lights in the dash work. The high beam, turn signals and the like, all operate. Anything else?i
