Unhappy no brake pressure & thumping after highway

Okay so I just drove to college, I was happy with the xj. it did pretty good but when I got off the highway I had no brake pressure. And a few weeks ago, I hit two bumps nothing big,and my cherokee made a thumping sound under the front drivers side, and I could/can feel it in the drivers side floor board.

But took it easy with the xj just too see how see was doin on the highway. But I ended up doing 70-80 (25k> rpms) for about 4 hours. oil pressure was good, she stayed pretty much steady at 40 psi and about 208* the whole time and only used about 2/3rds of a tank of gas.

So the problem is now that the brake pressure is still low and the thumping/popping is worse now, it does it whenever I hit two bumps in a row.

So any help would be greatly appreciated and if I did something stupid please feel free to tell me I am a dumb *** and doing something wrong! haha

Y'all have a goodnight!

The first thing to do is to pull the wheels off and look at the brakes. Low pressure would be an indicator of a leak someplace in the hydraulic system.

So I'm starting to think that maybe its my master cylinder. But who knows I'm going to try and figure this no brake pressure crap out over the week/weekend.

And my thumping went away...after I hit an other big bump on the highway.

Hahah probably.

Just an update for anyone who has this issue. I replace the master cylinder as I had no real fluid loss. That helped the peddle some, but it was still bottoming out, so I pulled the drums and as it turned out it was the original drums from 14 years ago, and the cylinder was leaking, or just not hold pressure. So $120 and 2 hours later, I have new everything from the break line diverter box back. All good and new. I havent ever been in a Jeep thats stopped this good. Let alone a Cherokee!
