i recently lost brake pressure in my 98 xj but am not losing any brake fluid. so today i replaced the master cylinder thinking that maybe there was a bad seal. i bled the master cylinder then hooked it up in the jeep and bled the lines starting in the right rear and working my way forward, still no pressure at the pedal and not losing any fluid. any suggestions as what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

did you replace the booster too, or just the master cylinder?

is the vacuum hose attached and in good shape?

did you check your wheel cylinders?

if you replaced your calipers at all, is the bleeder valve above the brake line?

also, did you replace your brake differential block/proportioning valve?

did you replace it with the same master as you removed? ie, dual diaphragm.

all fittings are the same type ie. bubble flare and/or double flare?

don't know what else to think...

i did wheel cylinders a while back when one started leaking so i replaced both. calipers are both stock the master was what ever napa gave me. i haven't checked the vacuum line and i didn't change the proportioning valve ill check that stuff in the morning. how could i tell if the booster is bad? i didnt even touch it other than to get the master off.
