so i decided its time to tackle the blinker issue... i dont have any... lol... the switch seems to click back and forth fine... i think when i was fixing my steering column awhile back i stuck all the wires to the switch with a test light and got nothing... the other day i went and replaces all my relays under the dash just incase... now i do have a 96 motor and the wiring was all swapped around so its possible this wasnt ever right from then... any ideas on some things i can check? any other parts in there?? oh yeah also when i got the jeep i went through and replaces all my fuses cause they were all faling apart...

Yea I cant seem to figure out the blinker problem for this XJ either. I dont know what to do.. I replaced the blinker switch with one from the junk yard, checked the fuses. Blinkers still dont work but when you put the hazards on.. they both work?! weird..

There are two different flashers for signals (blinkers) and the hazards. Find the hazard flasher by turning them on, and try switching it with the blinker flasher. Make sure all fuses are good.

Thats what I did before in my old wrangler. I would turn the signal on and the light would just stay on. So I just replaced both flashers and the fuses even though they looked ok and it worked.

Does everything else work that is part of that switch, Head light dimmer, wiper switch, cruise? Check Plug connection on bottom of steering column. Try another switch externally.

It's obvious, you're using Synthetic blinker fluid. All the Renix jeeps explicitly specify Petroleum based blinker fluid.

Unplug the switch and check for juce to the switch with a test light. If it dosn't go up it can't come down. The only wire that should have juice without the ign. switch on is the hazards.
