Is the electric auxiliary fan required if there is no AC? My 99 Sport originally was equiped with AC, but the previous owner had a front end fender bender and never replaced the condenser and one hose is severed. I don't use AC normally, and I know the fan is programed to come on at 218, but mine runs at a tick below 210, even on the hotest summer days. Can I permanently remove the fan?

 

I would leave it on for extra assurance. Just my $.02

 

ive had my 90 for over a year now and the ac dosent work. the po took off the e-fan and i haven had a issue at all unless i idle for a loooonnnngggg time in 90 and above heat. i now have vents cut in the hood to try and help
i am looking to get a efan to put on a switch to help also

 

Unless you have a good reason to remove it, leave it there. You'll regret taking it out when you're way the hell up in the mountains overheating. Ask me how I know.

 

FWIW, factory standard cooling consisted of the belt driven fan only. With only one rad fan, cooling system maintenance is of the utmost importance.
