I picked up my first jeep, a 94 cherokee sport with a 6" short arm lift. I was told by a friend that the front shocks are about 2" from full extension with the jeep on level ground. I'm trying to get as much travel without redoing the lift and breaking the bank. With the jeep static the front shocks are measuring 25" with full extension of the shock at 27.5", rear is about 24" with full extension of the shock at 32". What lenght front shocks should I get, extended and colapsed. I think the rear is probably ok, if not anyadvice on it as well would be greatly apprecaited. I think the lift is a rough country, the shocks are procomp es3000.

shock length will dependant of tire size, wheelwell trimming, bumpstopping.
no way to guess at shock length without unbolting the shocks, disconnecting the swaybar, and flexing it out.
Once it is disconnected and crossed up you can measure for the collapsed and extended lengths.

When I look at shocks should I look only at shocks specifically for a cherokee or the length? When I have looked at shocks for a cherokee with a 6" lift I havent seen any shocks that are more than 1" longer extended than what I have.
