Default newbie help with starting problem

My problem is the other day i just filled up the jeep and 40$ later it would not start all the lights and on the dash come on like its going to start but then nothing happens i dont hear any clicking in the engine bay like the starter is trying to turn or anything nothing happens then after 10 mins of trying to start it it cranks and has been fine for about a week now this has happen one other time and after trying a couple of times it started
it has a new battey and i did clean the nss right after i bought the jeep so i dont think they are the problem

could it be the crank position sensor
or the ingnition switch or starter,
o rillieys said when i bought the battery that my starter was drawing a lot of current like it might be going bad

thank you for any help kenny

Check CPS with a DMM, should read infinite impedance. Hit starter with a hammer.

First try cleaning up the battery contacts - they may look fine but may be not transmitting a charge (personally i'd just replace them with new ones)

If that doesn't work continue down the line (battery-> body ground, battery-> starter cable, starter->engine block contact, engine block -> body ground)

No, do not replace the CPS, it won't prevent the engine from cranking.

Next time it happens run your shifter rapidly through the gears and try again. if it starts then you need to pull and clean the NSS.
