Default New XJ...what did I get??

Hello all

Just purchased an XJ, and I'm excited to start doctoring her up. Future plans include a 3-3.5" lift and 31's on stock rims for moderate wheeling and daily driving. Its a 1995, with 146k and I picked it up for $3000. Decent deal I think, it is in near perfect condition, no rust, no damages.

After I got it home I noticed that it has a skid plate up front. It also has an "orvis" spare tire cover. I assume that the tire cover was from a grand cherokee. There wasn't an orvis xj was there? Do I have the country package if the skid plate is factory? What other goodies might this beast have that I don't know about?

THANKS ALL!!

no problem, and if u do have the up country package,u will have full skids, heavy duty springs, leafs and shocks and sits 1" higher than reg. xj's,the upcountry package is like the jeeps version of the fords fx4 or chevys z71,i have the upcountry package and i love it

I hope I do, I didn't notice any other skid plates underneath, but the front end seems to sit higher than most stock xj's i have seen. The leaf springs are super saggy though, they are almost a negative arch.

Yeah all xj's sag in the back lol...But an orvis tire cover? And if you have tow hooks and a skid plate on the gas tank then you have the up-country pakage. Thow some pics of it up here and welcome to the forum

All I can say is when you give up your Cherokee again, I want those skids before you sell, you know my adress and number lol. I'm just kidding hopefully can stick with this one for awhile. I was going to tell you about getting a build sheet but that's been covered, sometimes they are quick and sometimes like me it can take dang near two weeks. Interest myself to find out if your tow package is stock
