I am a new Cherokee owner and was just wondering about any tricks or the best ways to keep my 2000 Cherokee running good and last long thanks in advance for all post.

Not much to it really. Change the oil and filter regularly, change the other fluids periodically, keep the cooling system in good shape and don't let it overheat.

Any recommended oil and oil filter to use. It's got about 125k miles

I use a mopar filter and oil is up to you, everyone has their favorite. But don't cheap on the filter or oil

- change oil regularly
- use a quality oil filter
- grease the greaseables
- deal with rust immediately
- run OEM spark plugs
- keep the cooling system healthy

That should keep it happy! Most importantly, learn how to search this forum. In Google youcan stick "site:cherokeeforum.com" into a query and it will only look here. So "overheating 0331 site:cherokeeforum.com" will pull up threads about the troublesome 0331 heads in the 2000 and 2001 model years
