How do you know that you need one? They are adjustable! Did you test your sensor. Google this website (Another freakin jeep website) They have all the information that you will need to know to test your sensor and adjust the input and output voltage. If it is actually bad check all the parts houses on the INTERNET, although you will probably get a fair deal from Auto zone or someone like them as the shipping costs offset the initial lower price of the part. Good Luck!

Not all TPS's are adjustable. I know my 91 isn't.

Default Tps question

I was wondering when you buy a new tps from a parts house, do they come pre set or do you still have to set them? I have an 89 xj 4.0

An MPI (multi-point injection) '89 XJ needs to be adjusted by the installer.

TPSs are high fail items on Jeeps. Very sensitive to water and heat. I've had four at a time that all adjust voltages, however not at the correct range, so they didn't work PROPERLY in the Jeep.

But sure, check the sensor before you replace it to save yourself some piece of mind.
