Okay so I plan on installing a new radiator before Summer, and I'm wondering how difficult it would be to convert my 88 to the radiator that newer XJ's have where you poor coolant directly into it. I'd like to eliminate that plastic bottle that's cracking all the time! Anything you guys have is appreciated!

 

U still have a bottle, it's just that the newer open system ('91 up) doesn't utilize a pressurized bottle but rather a vented bottle. Do some searching /reading on "open cooling system". Other than a fill neck on the newer rads, I think they are the same capacity and cooling efficiency.
