First of all it sucks gifs can't be used for a sig.
So, I was just given a Jeep Cherokee 1989 that has been sitting for a year. It ran when I put a new battery in, but lacked power. Then would not start. Turns out zero fuel pressure n the rail. Then it felt like there was no pressure between the pump and filter. So it is in the shop. No way I mess with that. I don't wanna kill myself. Plus the steering wheel is jacked up.
So I am making a list of stuff to do. The thing has 260,000 miles but is in great shape for what it is.
I replaced the spark plugs already which checked out good. Replaces the wires, dizzy cap and rotor.
From what I have read I am going to clean the ground connectors, and just replace the EGR.
What else should I do under the hood? I'm thinking new 24/lb hr fuel injectors if it fits in the budget, and a new coil as well. I still have to replace the PVC valve and strap on a new belt.
Have some interior and exterior cosmetics to do as well as brakes sometime soon and a windshield.
The previous owner did say that it would randomly stall on him. I'm thinking it could be the pump cause that is dead, but also was going to check the crank sensor, but I don't really understand the problem that it causes and how to properly fix it.
Anything else to look into? If it makes it to the 300,000 mile range, I am wanting to do the poor mans 4.6 stroker. I'm thinking of getting a newer wrecked jeep for a parts car plus a source for my HO head and cam.
