Default new problem, idling weird, and loss of power

Ok here's the deal now with my '99 Cherokee 4.0l.

This all started AFTER I power washed and put a new water pump in. It idles under 1000, and then almost dies and revs back up. While im driving if I hit the gas it sputters, like I have a loss of power. It also seems like it'd missing? It backfires a little bit.

I just did my injectors tonight. With new o-rings and cleaned em.

Not sure what's going on, if you have any ideas let me know, any input is appreciated, thanks.

How long ago did you wash the engine? Mine calmed down a couple days after i washed it. It was frustrating. If it doesnt correct itself, then you might have to check your tps out to see if you fried it.

Well it only took a couple days for mine to calm down. The tps is on the front side of the throttle body and it will be the sensor on the right. Did you check to make sure you didnt blow and vac lines off?

Well my tps is fine, it looks good, new o-ring in it. Could my distributor get water in it and then dry and still not work?

Also I did a rebuild kit on my injectors. They were fine to begin with anyways.

Any ideas? Give me some input..

Yes there is ca sensor inside the distributor cap that could have gotten damaged. With a TPS btw looks can be deceiving,

Ok thanks.. everything said above wrong was fixed tonight. I was being impatient while pressure testing my head a couple weeks ago, and I wound up leaving a brass thing screwed into cylinder one, and I screwed a spark plug into it and screwed the spark plug up and it didn't even get spark, so I was running on 5 cylinders. Stuuupid move, feel like an idiot now..

But now I have an extra problem, after playing around with her tonight after awhile when I put her into park she would idle up to almost 3k, and then come back down after like 10 seconds. And when in drive for a few seconds would idle up to 1500?? Any idea what it is.
