Default New NSS, still getting p0705

OK, so, i bought a 2000 xj , 4wd, auto, 4.0; back in december for $500 with a cracked head and just got it rebuilt with in the last few weeks. i got my temporary waiver (10 day pass) so that i could drive it and get it inspected. well, surprise surprise, it runs and drives great but the CEL came on. Pulled the codes, got a p0705. I did my research and found that the NSS is most likely causing the problems. So, i pulled it apart, cleaned the nasty contacts, regreased it and hooked it back up. drove 35 miles to go golfing with my father while he was in town, no problem. UNTIL, the second drive cycle, when the CEL almost immediately came back on, p0705 again. so after tinkering with it, adjusting it, i decided to get a new one. hook it up, adjust it, only starts in park and neutral, and the reverse lights work properly (just like the original switch), but still a p0705. i am a mechanic, and i cant stand it when im stumped by a car, but this one, my own, is kicking my ***. by the way i also read somewhere that #10 fuse can cause issues, and it is good. i dont know if its a wiring problem, a tcm problem, or what, but i really need some help. i have mitchell at work, but its about useless. im a big alldata fan, but i dont have access to it. if anyone has voltage specifications i could use, to back probe the wiring harness, or if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it, i would greatly appreciate any help i can get. this jeep has been a slow process, and getting it lifted i know is going to be just as slow, but its running great and im almost there, but i need to get it inspected, and until then it just sits in my driveway.... thanks for the help, and thanks to cherokee forum!!
