Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and a buddy of mine and I bought a jeep last Monday... It was completely stock 93 Cherokee that was wrecked in the front... We lifted it 3.5 inches in the front with home made body mounts that sit on top of the coil spring, 3 inch blocks in the back. We lowered the transfer case an inch to help correct some of the pinion angle... We put a new set of 31x10.50 Buckshot x something mudders (have side walls on them) and built a big *** bumper with some driving lights on it... Thought I'd share the progress

Still like the back bumper, back up lights, kicker bars and some other odds and ends before she'll be done...

Default Good looking jeep!

You know, that's the "little black cocktail dress" of jeeps, right there. Simple, straightforward and sweet looking.

Mine is almost identical, and you've got me thinking about ways to go with my build plans.

Looks good!! You may want to do something about the three inch lift blocks in the rear though. The leaves in an XJ are not very stiff, and if you wheel that set up that way it could damage something. Lift blocks cause axle wrap, and that can lead to axle failure quickly. Three inches is a very tall block for an XJ. I just wanted to pass that along. HTH!!

Was the lift in the front done with spacers or some other type of mount?

spacers are probably ok for the time being but save you up a little cash and make a bastard pack for the rear, those blocks seem to do wierd things. crack, twist and so on...
looks awesome and you are on your way.

oh man if you dont know about bastard backs then look them up. all you have to do is add leafs together and make one. there are many ways of doing this. look up bastard packs on here and other forums, theres alot of info on this and its really cheap. mine rides like stock leaf springs. this is the alternative to buying new leafs.

heres what i did. got a pair of front lift coilsprings of a guy on another forum for 40 bucks and got the bastard pack for free from a freind who lifted his upto 6.5 inches so he didnt want them in his garage, so my lift was about, well 40 bucks. my freind also gave me his old racho 5000 shocks for a 3.5-4.5 lift. so im in the lift, yep 40 bucks. but it took a while to find everything and research what i wanted. but here it is.

Hey you might want to take a look at my Jeep.. I use to have that red stripe on mine and i took it off. I seem to like the look alittle better but your jeep is clean as it is.

My XJ is this exact same color combo too. I also had that darn red stripe (not the jamaican lager, lol) and mine was so crusted on there that I just taped it off and created my very own satin black stripe right over it. Maybe it's not as clean as no stripe at all, but getting rid of the red really brings out the true color of this particular shade of green. I also ditched the cheapo rubber trim with the red stripes and sprayed bedliner on the lower quarters too.

But I do agree that the OP's Jeep looks rather clean just as it is, very nice work! Keep us updated!
