Default New leaf spring bolts

I'm about to replace the rear leaf springs on my 93 XJ and my question is what are good bolts to use? Can I just pick up some grade 8 bolts at Home Depot or do I need some suspension specific bolts from an auto parts store? Thanks.

Spencer I think that the spring U bolts are grade 8 but I may be wrong. Judging by the sparks that the grinder throws they are at least high carbon steel. Not something soft like hardware store bolts.

Sorry, I should have specified. I already have the Ubolts and hardware for them. I was actually talking about the main eye and shackle bolts. When I get out the old ones(they can't be reused), I was wondering what suggestions about replacing them. Thanks, though, BlueXJ.

You could always order new ones from jeepoemparts.com....That's my plans when i put a new kit on...I plan to replace the ones for the leaf springs, and my LCA's and the spring retainer bolts as well..If you need part numbers I can give them to you..I have the Factory Parts Manual for the 91-93 XJ's...

Here's the part numbers you need...
Bolts: 3420 2118
Nuts: 1150 2814

These if I remember are also used for the control arms as well..Also if you are using new longer shackles you might consider replacing the factory shackles with new ones as well...

The factory parts manual...for 91-93 XJ's...should be the same part# all the way to 2001...
