Default New Jeep owner

Hello,

I'm a new owner of a pre-owned 2002 Grand Cherokee Overland. This vehicle has 41k miles on it and the previous owner kept it in mint condition. I have all the maintenance records since it purchased it new. It has just about any option you can think of in it including a Kenwood navigation system with a TV tuner. It has the 4.7 V8 and the on-demand 4wd system.

Just wondering if there is anything I should know about this Jeep SUV since it's my first. Owned Ford SUVs previously.

Spec says to use premium gas. Is this a definite??

No, it's not necessary. You should be able to run 87 octane with no problems. HTH!!

nope, you can run any octane, cause the comp runs the timing, like if you have an old carbed engine, you'd have to set the timing for the octane to deture detination

Congrats on the Overland. Share some pics of her.

If you haven't already, check out wjjeeps.com lots of usefull info there

Have an '04 myself and I LOVE it. Great in the snow and plenty of power for my needs, used her to tow home my last three Jeeps I bought. You can run 87 octane no prob. however I run premium in mine, I find my MPG stay a tick or two higher then with running regular.
