BFH, rubber one preferrably, ie. a dead blow will work best without damaging the cover. If you don't have one they are cheap at HFT or WM.

of course after evertyhing gets put back on after doing the diffs and putting fluid back in i go for a drive and when i step down pretty good on the gas the jeep feels like its gonna die, it bogs down and almost stops running what could be wrong? fuel pump, rail, or carb?

vacuum leaks. They have a tendancy to act as you described.

vacuum leak or carb? ( if im thinking right that was a carb motor) the float might not be set right and could be flooding it out?

the other night i just picked up a rebuild kit for the carb finished in a night and everything works fine now. but i found out the valve cover needed resealing due to a little leak. also i think they are called gromet lines (the ones that go to the top of the valve cover) need replacing too because they are loose. is there a certain place i should get those or will a junkyard do fine?

Junkyards may be in as bad a shape as yours. Many parts stores have different sized grommets in their "HELP" section. You might check there.
