I posted a thread yesterday about if I should get a 91 or 00 engine to rebuild. I had decided on the 91 and was going to go get it which meant a 6 hour trip to get there and back. I decided to look at Craigslist one last time to see if I could find an engine any closer
Well I am glad I looked. Not only did I find an engine but a whole Jeep. It is a 94 Cherokee Sport with SelecTrac 4.0HO and auto trans 4 brand new Toyo open country tires.
The guy was convinced that the engine was blown because there is a destinct knocking noise that sounds like it could be coming from the engine bay. He let the Jeep go for.....$300.00! Thats it!
I have been doing a lot of searching and I have found that there are tons of people that say it is probably just the flex plate and/or torque conv. bolts. That they loosen over time and can knock and sound like a bad engine.
Even if the motor has to be pulled and rebuilt it was still worth every penny. It si in better shape than my 92, it has a lot less rust so I am going to convert everything on my 92 over to my new 94.
At $300 I could not pass this up!

 

Not too good a view from here, but I dont believe I see any rust on those rockers. Good deal.

 

There is a little rust on drivers side rocker but none on the other side and rear quarters are good too.

 

My drivers door looks like your passenger door, stupid door welds, *yells curse words, shakes fist in air*
