Default new guy 1987 cherokee chief

hello guys,new from canada to the forum.I picked up this rust free 1 owner Cherokee chief last week,4.0,280kms,auto.,242tc,havent looked at the axles.runs pretty well,havent had it out yet.interior like new,but am looking for a few light blue window cranks if anyone has them,so,a few things need fixing 1st.,steering wheel very loose,no dash running lights,not sure if its in the switch,or elec issue????any ideas.also oil pressure Gauge is pinned at all times,ign. on or off,im thinking its the gauge,as I have power at the sender unit with test light.sound like the gauge to you guys???

parts needed:
oil pressure gauge
1 standard black rim hubcap,hard to find up here.............
3 blue window crank handles
pm me if you happen to have any parts.........

Your oil pressure problem is more then likely the oil pressure sending unit and not the gauge. When the sending unit fails the usually read at max pressure.

Welcome. As for your gauge lights, have you tried turning the headlight switch?

thanks for the replys guys.did end up replacing the sender unit first,43$.I remember buying those for 15/20$ not so long ago.oil pressure is at the halfway mark at operating temp.also tore the steering column apart,and tightened up the bolts,& added locktite.dash lights now are working,with the replacement of a used switch.damn dome lights are staying on now for some reason???

did you try turning the switch to the right a lil bit

yup handle is where it should be.dome lights stay on with all the doors closed.................

Yeah in 97 the windows became one solid piece of glass. 84-96 could have had vent windows. But there was a recall since they were known to leak. Mine is a 90 and barely leaks
